Sylvan Beach Foundation

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Taharka Brothers is a venture of the Sylvan Beach Foundation, Inc. Sylvan Beach is a non-profit foundation which functions to assist at-risk Baltimore youth and teaches them the intricacies of business strategy and entrepreneurship with the ultimate goal that each of these student-workers will found his own business. These students are the face of the Sylvan Beach Foundation and the engineers behind Taharka Brothers Ice Cream. Another reason, on a list of many, why Taharka Brothers is the best ice cream in Baltimore.

The goals of the Sylvan Beach Foundation are divided into two equally powerful areas.
Business—We aspire to develop Taharka Brothers into the next great Baltimore company, the next Ben and Jerry’s of urban America.
Community—Our community aspirations are no less lofty. We believe in using business as a platform to improve the lives of all Baltimoreans!
